Superb German-made Torpedo, rare, beautiful salmon over yellow color in mint condition with Elite typeface with European accents and characters.  Full refurbishment, NEW PLATEN (0 at my cost), NEW silk black & red ribbon (.95 value).  This particular machine has an exceptional touch and operation.
You can expect prices to continue to rise for the foreseeable future on professionally refurbished machines because of the scarcity of local, factory-trained typewriter repairmen and the machines themselves. Logically, professionally refurbished typewriters will be the better investment long term.
Torpedo typewriters are well made, scarce typewriters prized by those that work on them and I heartily agree.  In my opinion, the best made typewriters in the world are the German machines surpassing even the ultra-popular (and much more expensive) Swiss-made Hermes machines because I work on them both.
This machine went through my 6-8 hour process mechanical refurbishment process (see representative photos) including the near total tear down and reassembly of the machine with a full cleaning and lubrication, then reassembled to manufacturer specs.
